Kathy grew up in rural northern California. She has always enjoyed art. Her first opportunity to dabble in oil was a paint-by-number, which she still has. After accomplishing that project all else seems easy. A drawing class in college and some painting classes from an artist in Nevada rounded out her early training. Her first paintings were done in the 70’s.
Kathy has also enjoyed painting on wood, wood burning, and other crafts. But, oil painting is her love and she has been able to spend more time pursuing that passion in the past few years.
Kathy now lives in McAllister, Montana in the beautiful Madison Valley and paints the beautiful surroundings.
She was fortunate enough to have studied and painted with her friend Barbara McKee and learned invaluable lessons. Spending time with other artists inspires her. “Once I get painting, the ideas flow and I can’t wait to begin the next challenge.”
